Antenna Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Antenna (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. These Terms apply to all users of Antenna, including both free and paid subscribers.

2. Who We Are

Antenna is developed and operated by Egemen Günel (“we”, “us”, “our”). For any questions regarding these Terms, contact us at antenna@egemengunel.com.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Antenna. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Antenna only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of the App and any purchases.

4. Identification and Safety

Antenna identifies bugs with an on-device model and gives a hazard verdict for the species it thinks it sees. You acknowledge that:

• Identifications can be wrong. Many species look alike, and photo quality, lighting, angle and the individual animal all affect the result
• A “harmless” or low-hazard verdict does not mean a bug is safe for you. Allergies and individual reactions vary, and a misidentified species may be dangerous
• Local activity, seasonal and sting-risk information is estimated from public observation data and weather forecasts, and may be incomplete or out of date
• Antenna is not medical advice. If you or someone else has been bitten or stung and has symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, dizziness, or spreading pain, contact emergency services immediately. For non-urgent concerns, consult a doctor or your local poison control centre
• For infestations or bugs in your home, consult a qualified pest-control professional

You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on information shown in Antenna.

5. AI Chat Assistant

Antenna Pro includes a chat assistant powered by third-party AI services (OpenRouter and Anthropic) that answers questions about an identified species. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, and can be confidently wrong
• The assistant does not see your photo and relies on Antenna’s identification, which may itself be wrong
• AI output is not a substitute for professional advice (medical, veterinary, pest-control or otherwise)
• We make no guarantees about the accuracy or quality of AI-generated content

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Antenna only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You must not:

• Use the chat assistant to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory or obscene, or to send personal information about other people
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code or models from the App
• Attempt to circumvent free-tier limits, subscription checks, or authentication mechanisms
• Call our servers other than through the App, or use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or restrict your access if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated these rules.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of the photos you take and the messages you write in Antenna (“Your Content”). Your photos stay on your device. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process your chat messages solely to provide the chat assistant to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Share cards you create are yours to share. Share cards created on the free tier carry an Antenna watermark.

8. Subscriptions and Payments

Free tier. Antenna is free to download. The free tier includes a limited number of identifications, after which further identifications require Antenna Pro.

Antenna Pro. Antenna Pro is a paid, auto-renewing subscription, offered with weekly and yearly billing periods, that unlocks unlimited identifications, the chat assistant, and detailed local activity reports. Pricing is displayed in the App prior to purchase.

Billing. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle or store payment information. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, and your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to Antenna Pro until then.

Refunds. All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We have no ability to issue refunds directly.

Restore Purchases. You can restore a previous purchase at any time from the Profile screen.

9. Free Trial

If a free trial is offered for Antenna Pro, its length is shown before you start it. The subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

10. Third-Party Data

Antenna shows observation data and species photos from iNaturalist and its contributors, and weather data from Apple Weather. Species photos remain the property of their photographers and are shown with the attribution and licence they were published under. Third-party data is provided as is and may contain errors. Data sources are listed in the App under Profile → Data Sources.

11. Intellectual Property

All content within Antenna that is not Your Content or third-party data — including the App itself, its design, code, identification model, species content, branding, graphics, and text — is owned by Egemen Günel or licensed to us, and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

Antenna is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, that identifications, hazard verdicts or local activity information will be accurate or complete, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable for your intended purpose. Use of the App is at your own risk.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Egemen Günel shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any personal injury, illness, or property damage, arising from your use of or inability to use Antenna, including reliance on identifications, hazard verdicts, local activity information, or AI-generated content. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the use of Antenna shall not exceed the amount you paid for Antenna in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Egemen Günel from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of Antenna, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Antenna at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it; to remove data held on our backend, see the Privacy Policy. Sections 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, and 14 survive termination.

16. Changes to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Antenna at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes within the App. Continued use of Antenna after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Antenna shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Turkey, unless the consumer protection laws of your country of residence give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

18. Apple App Store Additional Terms

The following terms apply because Antenna is distributed via the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Antenna
• In the event Antenna fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund your purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to Antenna or your use of it
• Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you

Your use of Antenna is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
